2.Properties of F520
FEISPARTIC F520 is an amino-functional co-reactant for polyisocyanates; it’s the same model as NH1520 and could be used to formulate high-solids, two-component polyurethane topcoats, and solvent-free coating materials.
FEISPARTIC F520 can also react with –NCO functional HDI trimmer from which a longer gelling time and excellent yellow resistance can be achieved. A longer gelling time can also be obtained when mixing with FEISPARTIC F420 to achieve a pure aspartic polyurea coating with a high build and a fast dry two-pack coating system. FEISPARTIC F520 is compatible with other hydroxyl-functional resins, such as acrylic and alkyd resin. It is widely applied in formulating a variety of protective coatings.
Polyaspartic ester polyurea resins react with polyisocyanates to create two-component polyurea/clear urethane coats.
Polyaspartic resins blend well with isocyanates for a more robust, more durable finish. The noted features they provide exterior coatings are weather and yellow resistance, zero VOCs (volatile organic compounds), and fewer coats that need to be applied to give more efficiency. End-users find freedom in a fast dry time, and it can be easily applied with standard equipment even though it has a high solid content. The advantages of using polyaspartic esters are the flexibility to design the reactivity to accommodate batch mixing and application, control over the cure rate when added to aliphatic coatings, and the ability to change the reaction time to extend the pot life. It can be customized to the needs of the application.
FEISPARTIC F520 resin must be stored in tightly sealed containers to prevent from contacting with moisture. Recommended storage temperatures are 0°-40°C (32°-104°F). The shelf life of FEISPARTIC F520 is 12 months when stored in original closed containers at 77°F (25°C).
