The two components are polyaspartic resin and isocyanate curing agent. At present, this material has been widely used and promoted in the field of coatings, and the specific application areas include windmill blade coating, engineering machinery coating, roof waterproof coating and high-end floor coating. And the application of polyaspartic polyurea material in the field of adhesive is an application direction we will focus on developing in the future.

 

The adhesion of polyaspartic polyurea for different substrates varies greatly, such as PVC, ABS, plain iron, wood, stone and glass, etc. adhesion is relatively easy, while PP, PE, aluminum and stainless steel and other substrates have relatively poor adhesion, and need to be optimized through the preparation of adhesive formulas to improve adhesive properties.

Design Ideas for Polyaspartic Polyurea Adhesive Formulation

The preparation of polyaspartic polyurea adhesive usually requires the addition of auxiliary materials such as thickeners, substrate wetting agents, adhesion promoters and various pigment fillers. These auxiliary materials as far as possible all added to the resin component, avoid adding to the curing agent component, because the curing agent component is highly active, easy to absorb moisture in the air during processing and thickening and deterioration. Added additives need to avoid bringing amine groups, hydroxyl, compounds. Because these substances on the polyaspartic resin has a significant catalytic effect, which will greatly shorten the operable time, and the various pigmented fillers to be added should be dried and processed.

 

Quick Repair Adhesive Applications

In some specific occasions, we need to apply glue quickly and put it into use. The reaction speed of polyaspartic polyurea adhesive is adjustable, and the gelling time can be from 1 or 2 minutes to several minutes, which can be adjusted according to the requirements of on-site sizing. Especially some special occasions need 3, 5 minutes to require curing, very suitable. There are two options available for product design: the first one, high activity polyaspartic resin with aliphatic isocyanate curing agent, such as F220 and other high activity primary amine prepared polyaspartic resin with HDI trimer. The second one, the use of conventional polyaspartic resin F420, F520, etc., with high activity aromatic isocyanate curing agent MDI, TDI pre-polymers and so on.

 

Yellowing-resistantAdhesive Applications

For certain occasions with high requirements of yellowing resistance, such as seam sealer for window sill tiles, corner adhesive for exposed doors and windows, advertisement luminous signage, outdoor use of LED light encapsulation, etc., in the design of the product, we use F520, F420 and other resins for the resin component, while the curing agent component, according to the requirements of the specific mechanical properties, can use a conventional triple polymer, urea condensation, but also can use HDIIPDI and polyester diol, polycarbonate diol and other additives, such as Feiyang's GB926, GB509, etc., so as to be able to obtain a wider range of performance space.

 

Polyaspartic polyurea is a class of materials with significant characteristics, highlighted in the solvent-free, yellowing-resistant, fast reaction speed, high body strength, performance can be designed in a wide range.
